Hi I'm Rosie! I'm a maker of fashion accessories, clothing, and a few other things that I like to occasionally like to turn my hand to. Welcome to Cynthia Land.

I named my fashion brand Cynthia Land after Cynthia, the doll I got for my 1st birthday back in 1990. She's been with me through all the highs and the lows so I thought I'd give her some cred!

I learned to make clothes from scratch while I was running a vintage shop in Brick Lane, London. I started off by re-working some of the pieces we were selling in the shop, and before long I was working on my own designs from vintage fabrics. My background is in art and I always find it comes through in my work - I love the thrill of bringing something new to the world, firstly dreaming it, then making it real.

My vintage business closed its doors a few years back (thanks Covid) and I relocated to Brighton where I briefly worked in costume for TV. This came with some beautifully strange experiences (like being filmed dancing inside a Masked Singer costume) but over the past couple of years I decided to focus on my new adventure. 

So here we are in Cynthia Land, where you'll find handbags and hair accessories in vintage fabrics that I love and have found... just about anywhere. I'm drawn to bold, striking prints in a textures that feel as interesting as they look. The endless combinations of my designs and fabrics mean that I only produce small batches and one-offs - so order from Cynthia Land for a unique piece that you'll love wearing as much as I loved making!
